An imposing, extended early twentieth century detached five bedroom family house set in approximately an acre of grounds with swimming pool and double garage. Great location at the edge of the village close to the railway station and The Bissoe Trail.
This substantial five bedroom family house has been extended over the years. The original property is thought to date from the early 1900s and high ceilings, stone walls and large, light bay windows characterise this traditional home. The house sits in approximately an acre which largely comprises lawned garden with a mix of hedging and stone walls. There's a 36' swimming pool in a polytunnel (heated with off peak electricity) and a double garage with electric doors along with a further block built store. The main entrance to the house is at the rear where there is an entrance porch and spacious hallway. The practical cloakroom / WC also has a shower, ideal after a dip in the pool! The kitchen / breakfast room has a pleasant mix of modern kitchen and traditional AGA. The Magnet kitchen has stylish gloss cream units with ample laminated working surface space. There's a built-in AEG multi function oven and AEG microwave /oven combination. There's an AEG ceramic hob with stainless recirculating extractor over. An integrated dishwasher is fitted and there is a 300mm pull-out larder unit along with two corner carousels. The oil fired AGA is a great addition adding warmth and style. There's a separate utility room where the oil fired boiler is located and there is a sink and plumbing for the washing machine. The impressive dining room has recently laid herring bone oak block flooring and a fire place with chimney (not currently used). In the living room there's a cosy wood burner and bay window. The Sun room works well as a playroom or office or simply a lovely place to enjoy the garden and the patio doors give access to the barbecue patio! Upstairs there are five generous bedrooms and the family bathroom which has a shower over the bath and a large airing cupboard. The master bedroom is particularly lovely being dual aspect and having a bay window. Really a fantastic family home in a great location.
Perranwell Station has excellent amenities including a Post Office and Stores, the Royal Oak pub, Perran-ar-worthal Primary School, Chuckles Day Nursery, Pre-School, Cricket Club, Football Club, WI, village hall with a programme of events and regular fitness and social events. The Truro/Falmouth branch line train service stops in the village and provides a regular link, as does the bus service. There are plenty of local walks and cycle routes close by with the coast to coast Bissoe Trail a short distance away. DIRECTIONS From Truro take the A39 towards Falmouth, go straight over at the Devoran roundabout, after leaving the roundabout indicate that you are going to make a right turn and virtually opposite the Yummy Scrummy Bakery you will see the entrance to Tarrandean Lane. It is not obvious until you are there so slow down and look for the opening 50 yards past the entrance to the Yummy Scrummy Cafe site. Tarrandean Lane is approximately 50 metres before the entrance to the industrial estate and Walsh Solicitors building. Clayton House is 800 yards up the lane on your left.
